How does the price of thermally conductive silicone sponge compare to general purpose silicone sponge?
Thermally conductive silicone sponge is generally more expensive that the general purpose sponge because of smaller production runs. The thermally
conductive sponge may be 2 or 3 times higher in price depending on what product and quantity is needed to solve the problem. Sometimes the thermally
conductive sponge is not economical for the application. In other applications, the thermally conductive silicone sponge is the only product for the
application. We like to provide a quote early in the process to review the economics up front. The price is based on the thickness, order
volume and configuration; 36" sheets, die cut parts etc.
What thickness is available and what are the minimum order quantities?
The minimum order quantity for 1/32" thick (.79 mm), 1/16" (1.59 mm), 1/8" (3.18 mm) and 3/16" (4.76 mm) is 1 sheet, 36"x36" (914 mm x 914 mm).
The minimum order quantity for 1/4" thick (6.34 mm) is 36" (914 mm) x 10 yards (9.14 M).
How does the thermal performance change with compression?
Thermal performance increases as the silicone sponge is compressed because the conductive fillers are coming closer
together. Please see the data sheet for V22-600 available via here.
