FDA grade silicone rubber is made with ingredients that are listed in CFR 177.2600, a US federal regulation that covers
rubber articles that will be in contact with food. The solid silicone rubber sheets, are made in various hardness as noted in the table
below. The hardness scale Shore A, is used to measure the hardness. 30 Shore A is softer than 60 Shore A.
The white, ozone and UV resistant, silicone rubber is chemically inert and resistant to both
high and low temperatures making it an excellent gasket material.
